The UPU said carbon dioxide emissions accounted for 0.2% of the global total of postal industry

The UPU said recently, the national postal operators carbon dioxide emissions account for 0.2% of global emissions. At present, the UPU is building a new carbon offset fund for the postal industry.
UPU announced, according to the fourth member states of carbon emissions in 2012, global postal industry produces 60000000 tons of greenhouse gas, accounting for 0.2% of global carbon dioxide emissions, accounting for 0.9% of the total emission of transportation field. More than 92% of the exhaust gases from industrialized countries, 7% from developing countries, least developed countries occupy 0.5%.
127 countries participated in the 2012 survey of carbon emissions, including air (38.5%), the subcontractor (21%), (20.5%), fleet building (19.5%), railway freight (0.3%) and sea (0.2%) emissions generated by. The 15 industrialized countries will also post staff of transportation into account.
The UPU said, at present, the UPU recommendation operators quickly take measures, to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, such as building energy-saving review, change the collection and delivery routes, reducing fuel consumption, as well as the use of renewable energy power generation.
The next step will be to the UPU postal industry to create a carbon offset foundation, is responsible for the raising and allocation of funds, the postal operators to offset carbon emissions, support environmental protection projects
