In Brussels, Belgium TNT city logistics promotion plan

After a one-year test, TNT company recently announced, in central Brussels, Belgium will officially to promote an innovative project, in order to realize the logistics process environmental protection.

TNT says, this "the urban logistics" plan will use electronic tricycle delivers letters and parcels in the city centre, its coverage extends to Louis business avenue the surrounding area.

TNT is currently and Belgian zero emissions logistics company Ecopostale cooperation, Ecopostale provide delivery service with TNT name. TNT Belgium company, said the plan is TNT city logistics initiative part of the action, aims to introducing new logistics solutions to reduce the pollution of the city and the traffic congestion.

Karl Moeremans TNT Belgium branch President, said the new third motorized tricycles weekly can save 400 kg of co2 emissions and 1300 km drive, it also helps to realize BuLuSaiErShi reduce 20% volume of traffic of the target.

Ecopostale general manager Nicolas Etienne says, daily from receiving about 300 parcels TNT, a third electric car, will be reaching 400 or so.

TNT Belgium said branch in the project, the third stage, be in 2012, the company plans to truck modified for a mobile warehouse, storage base as a trip in downtown and Brussels airport TNT hub. Electric cars will be loaded in to deliver in the final delivery staff in the section of the road, to delivery door.
