United Parcel survey of global medical industry executives to make logistics investment

The results of a survey of United Parcel released recently shows, global healthcare industry executives plan through technology investment and direct market oriented mode, promote the commercial and logistics services, to meet the needs of a changing industry.
United Parcel Service, which has a supply chain strategic investment, mainly by changing the conventional environment, global customers demand and product safety and increasing challenges the complex product.
United Parcel sixth annual medical industry survey report "supply chain pains" results show that, the global medical industry executives in 84% will be invested in new technology over the next five years, and 78% will enter the new global market. There are 70% executive plans to implement the new distribution channels, such as direct to the supplier and the retailer and patients. In addition, the 59% will be more dependent on the third party logistics partner.
United Parcel stressed, technology investment response to product safety (including high quality goods and product shelf life) and product protection awareness growing. Therefore, the investment survey, most executives will invest in support of electronic spectrum / electronic serialization system, for temperature sensitive and security product solutions and other systems in the next three to five years.
This is since 2008 the first launched the research on product safety concerns over cost management attention. Among them, there are 53% research executives to the cost management in supply chain focus as a matter of priority. The 48% executives think, complexity of counterfeit products product security is the greatest challenge, followed by the supply chain visibility (40%).
